I am a descendant of nancy jackson, I am her granddaughter, over the last 10 years I’ve been doing my whakapapa, I am interested in learning more, however I do not know if I am meant to have my uncles permission to be untreated in this, what interests me is my nanny has a pataka trust, funny hoe that was in a lead light window in the dining room door. So pleased to hear that the 34 significant customary fishing areas in and around the Titi Islands (primarily that of paua and kina gathering areas) are now protected from “commercial” fishermen (and protected perhaps from the depletion of stocks through overfishing).

Many thanks to everyone involved in this process down the years, for their persistence and ultimately in gaining the desired agreement for all.
