Mana Pounamu awards
He mihi nunui tēnei ki a Oliver Palmer-Hargreaves me Koreana Wesley-Evans. These two Ōtākou rakatahi were the recent recipients of Mana Pounamu awards. The awards aim to recognise achievements of Māori students within their schools and communities.
Conservation of a huia feather
Ōtākou has received advice about the conservation of a huia feather, a taonga object that is currently at our museum. This might be an opportunity for a Kāi Tahu, University of Otago student, to conduct a case study for a paper next year.
